The oil tanker City of Sydney. First ship to reach the MS Skaubryn and pick up all the 1300 survivors.
The Italian liner M.S. Roma picked up all survivors from the City of Sydney and took them back to Aden.
The English liner S.S. Orsova picked up a large number of survivors from Aden and took them to Australia.
The Dutch liner J.V.O. was on its way to Australia when news of the MS Skaubryn disaster broke out. The liner stopped at Aden and picked up a number of German survivors of the Skaubryn. Also a few groups of survivors were made their way to Australia by air.
On the 3rd of April the Dutch tug Cycloop took over from the English frigate Loch Fada in an attempt to tow the burning ship to Aden. The ship was on fire from end to end and started taking water. On the 6th day the ship started sinking and went down about 400 miles off Aden.
